Item Details

Description

Mid 18th century infant quilt, hand stitched with red triangle pattern. Quilt measures approx. L 30" x W 20". Age is apparent and white color has become somewhat dingy. A slight opening in the stitched reveals that the interior cotton of the quilt is raw field cotton with seeds still inside. This supports the possibility that it was stitched in the field and possibly done by slave workers.
