Lot 0494
Drexel "Venetian Heritage" Bedroom Suite, mid 20th C., consisting of a dresser, tall chest, lingerie chest, and a pair of night tables. (JKID8201/5)
BIOGRAPHY:
Mary "Maura" Dillon Pichetto passed away in 2013. An alternate delegate to the 1976 Republican National Convention, Pichetto was the daughter-in-law of the legendary Stephen Pichetto, art conservator of the Kress Collection, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the National Gallery. He also acted as an art advisor and conservator for the private collection of Paul Mellon. Through that connection, Mrs. Pichetto went on to work for Mr. Mellon in an administrative capacity and maintained a cordial personal relationship with Paul and Bunny. A number of personal items attesting to that relationship were found in the estate, selected images of which accompany lots from the Pichetto collection
