RYAN JOHN: (1921-2009) British Animator & Cartoonist, creator of Captain Pugwash. An original vintage pen and ink Captain Pugwash cartoon strip drawn and signed by Ryan on a 14.5 x 5 art board, the four panel strip featuring Captain Pugwash and Cut-throat Jake in an amusing encounter featuring a water cannon. Signed by Ryan and dated 1960 in his hand. With various pencil and ink annotations to the borders and verso, indicating that the cartoon was number 23 of Pugwash Ahoy, 29th July 1960. Some light age wear, otherwise VG
