44 cal, Colt, center fire, 8†barrel. Serial n° 1964xx. Transition Model (Second Model or Type II) between Richard and Richards-Mason conversion. The barrel and extractor of Richard type, conversion ring and hammer of Richards-Mason type. 1871 and 1872 patents, marked on the left side of the frame. Keeping 50% of its original nickel finishing, very fine wooden grips, varnished, very fine and clear naval engagement scene. Excellent bore.Only 9.000 produced. See "Flayderman's Guide": 5B-119.
