Description
A detailed Egyptian steatite scarab, 2nd Intermediate Period, c. 1750 – 1570 BC, with trapezoidal head and two grooves with interspersed vertical hatching for legs, on base, Horus and an ‘ankh’ sign within a central ‘Serekh’ flanked and surmounted by symmetric and stylized signs, a neb sign below. 13 x 7 mm. Ex Los Angeles private collection.
