4to (208x152 mm), contemporary soft vellum binding, handwritten title at spine; pp. [8], 768. Title-page missing (a copied title-page is inserted in the book on a flying leaf).

Jean Tixier de Ravisi (or Johannes Textor, ca. 1480-1524), a French pedagogist, philologist and humanist, he was a professor at the College of Navarre and then rector of the University of Paris.

12mo (142x76 mm), contemporary soft vellum binding, with three slightly raised bands at spine, handwritten title at spine; pp. (24), 668 [i.e. 648, p. 120-139 not numbered]; three title-pages with the same printer woodcut device.

Prima ed. di questa raccolta di sinonimi, epiteti e frasi poetiche; l'opera comprende la dedica dello stampatore Nicola Pezzana al Sig. Cristino Martinello, nobile veneto; poi vari avvisi e prefazioni, quindi il testo "Novus synonymorum, epithetorum et phrasium poeticarum thesaurus "; a seguire, con proprio frontespizio (a p. 443) il testo "Supplementum smetii vocabula complectens …"; poi, con proprio frontespizio (a p. 521) il testo "Epitome selectarum historiarum, fabulrum poeticarum insularum, regionum, urbium, fluviorum, montiumque celebriorum …" ; infine, a p. 655, "Appendix comparationum …".

Condition

[1.]: Traces of use to the binding (partially restored). Presence of browning and soiling at some leaves. Lack of the title-page. Overall, an incomplete copy in fair condition.

[2.]: Only slight defects at the binding, with traces of use, small stains and abrasions, lacks at bottom spine-edge; for the rest, the pages of the text are in excellent condition; complete work, in very good condition.
