The young photographer studied under the world’s two most successful German photo artists Thomas Ruff and Andreas Gursky; with his large-scale photographic panoramas he is among the promising young artists of the Düsseldorf School of Photography

With his works Martin Denker aims at visualizing the digitalization of our society. His compositions depict futuristic digital pictorial environments with abstract and objective elements that mostly reach into meticulous detail.


Condition:

The C-print is in very good condition. The dimensions of the image are 53.4 x 83.3 cm and the sheet measures 60 x 89.5 cm.


Martin Denker (b. 1976)

Martin Denker began his artistic education studying painting and literature at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität in Greifswald. Afterwards, he went to study at the University of Texas in San Antonio. In 2001, he was admitted to the class of photography of Thomas Ruff at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf. Next to that he worked for a period of four years in the studio of Andreas Gursky. Thomas Ruff appointed him his master pupil in 2006. In his works Denker combines photographic techniques with painting. His most well-known work is the 3 x 12 Meter large image ‘Aetas aurea’ (2001). Denker has so far taken part in exhibitions in the US, Norway, Finland, China and Germany. (tm)
