Description
A superb Taino deity vessel from Hispaniola, ca. 1000 – 1500 AD. It is 6-1/2” long, with the head of the deity emerging from the chamber, which is decorated with deeply incised designs. Most likely used as a censer during fertility ceremonies. In excellent condition, with strong mineral deposits.
