A nicely made Lambayeque stirrup vessel from Peru, ca. 700 – 1300 AD. This highly polished orangeware example is 7-1/4” high and features a pair of human heads mounted at the base of the spout. Remnants of decorative pain remain on the lower half of the chamber and the flared pedestal base is deeply incised with the pyramid designs characteristic of the type.
