Description
Europe, central to northwestern region, ca. 4th to 1st century BCE. This is a simple, elegant gold open bracelet in the style of a torc/hoop with conical terminals and a slight flattening in the middle. The Celtic world spanned much of central, western, and northern Europe, shrinking to a fringe area around the north and west as it came into contact with the Romans and other Germanic peoples. They are known for their curving, geometric metalwork, like this piece. 20k gold, 1.5 oz (42.5 g). Size: 3.15" L x 3.3" W (8 cm x 8.4 cm)

Provenance: Ex- private UK collection formed in the 1980's
