Fine facsimile of the first book to be printed with moveable type, the 42-line Bible of Johannes Gutenberg, printed circa 1450-55. This was the first Gutenberg facsimile printed in the United States, derived from the Insel Verlag edition which was based on the copy in the Koniglilchen Bibliothek in Berlin and the copy in the Standischen Landesbibliotheck in Fulda, considered by authorities to be the most beautifully illuminated of the 47 copies known to exist.
