Mr. (Iwamoto Masakatsu) (b. 1969) – Japanese artist, related to the otaku sub-culture
Each signed ‘Mr.’, dated ‘08’ and numbered ‘123/300’ and ‘124/300’ resp. in silver felt pen
Image dimensions: each 50 x 100 cm, sheet-sized
Very good condition
Condition:
Both offset prints in colors are in overall very good condition. The sheet-sized image measure each 50 x 100 cm.
Mr. (Iwamoto Masakatsu) (b. 1969)
The Japanese artist was born in Cupa, Japan, as Masakatsu Iwamoto, and later adopted the pseudonym Mr. In 1996 he graduated from Sokei Art School in Tokyo. As early as 1995 he was discovered and promoted by the artist Takashi Murakami and worked after graduation as his assistant. His participation in Murakmis exhibition ‘Super Flat’ in 2000 gained Mr. international attention. His works, which comprise not only paintings and sculptures, but also video and performance work has been shown in museums and galleries in Japan, the US and France. (fea)
