Grand Duchess Alexandra Petrovna (of Oldenburg): Two Autographed Letters and a Telegram. The correspondence all addressed to Court Physician Sergey Botkin, the two handwritten letters in Russian, the telegram also in Russian, the correspondence regarding second medical opinions, congratulations on a work anniversary, and thanking him for his assistance to a female student she had sponsored, 1878-1882. Contained in a blue card folder with a tipped in label identifying the correspondent in pre-revolutionary Russian orthography. Grand Duchess Alexandra Petrovna (1838-1900) was born as Duchess Alexandra Frederika Wilhelmina of Oldenburg in St Petersburg. She married Grand Duke Nikolai Nikolaevich the Elder and was the mother of Grand Duke Nikolai Nikolaevich the Younger.
