Ed Sprinkle was known to many as "The Meanest Man in Pro Football" and was nicknamed "The Claw." He played for 12 seasons with the Chicago Bears of the National Football League and is credited with calling attention to the NFL's defensive players. Bears coach George Halas referred to Sprinkle as "the greatest pass-rusher I've ever seen" and "a rough, tough ballplayer, but not a dirty one. This sweater is from Ed's senior season, 1943 and was given to him by the university, worn before the game against archrival Army. The Navy won 13-0 and Sprinkle was given a star to commemorate the victory. This gorgeous sweater also has a bold yellow Navy "N' in the middle to go with the star. Remaining in Mint condition, the sweater still displays the " Munzel Knit" tag in the collar. COA from Dave Bushing
