A blue and gold two-tone Rolex Submariner reference number 16803. Made in the summer of 1987 (serial number on case: R393XXX). Introduced in 1984, the model 16803 was Rolex's first two-tone Submariner. This model was only produced from 1984 to 1988. It is significant for being one of the first models to be equipped with a sapphire crystal as well as a 100 meter boost to water resistance. The year 1987 was also the first in which Rolex used an alphanumerical serial numbering sequence. This timepiece is powered by a cal. 3035 28,800 VPH automatic movement with 27 jewels, 42 hour power reserve, date complication, Microstella adjustment and a free-sprung Breguet balance spring. Features a sapphire crystal, gold and blue unidirectional bezel, screw back and crown, quick set date, 1000 feet/ 300 meter water resistance and official superlative chronometer certification. Includes its original two tone bracelet. The watch shows some signs of use with some marks on the case, bezel and bracelet. The dial has faded to a light blue color. The watch has been regularly serviced and maintained with its last service date in 2015.
