United States Navy Good Conduct Medal on a wine colored ribbon with pinback attached to the ribbon. This deep red or wine color is consistent with medal of this type issued in the first half of the 20th century. The medallion is 1 1/4 in diameter with United States Navy, on the front, and the insignia of the Navy along with an image of a ship and the word " Constitution" below. Awarded according to the engraving on the obverse to “ Leonard Lawrence Taylor 1935" for Fidelity, Zeal & Obedience . Leonard Lawrence Taylor was born in 1903 and lived to age 68, passing away in 1971. Mr. Taylor received this good conduct medal at the age of 32. The ribbon is approximately 16 inches in length (folded at center before looping the medallion and pin back) Medallion has some light wear marks on obverse, ribbon has retained its integrity and color. A brass bar pin back, with rope styled detail on edge, engraved 1941 on the front and " Leonard Lawrence Taylor " on the back. 1 5/8 inches long by 1/4 inch wide. Clasp and pin still intact, bar has patina as expected with age of 75 years.Two bronze bars, with rope styled detail on edge, one reads " Second Award" the other reads " Fifth Award" , each is 1 5/8 inches by 1/4 inch. The Second award bar has a slide back for placing on a ribbon, the fifth award bar has a pin back. Both are in very good condition
