Alfred Boilot (Paris, active 1880 - 1900) French etcher and engraver upon both wood and copper, he studied printmaking techniques under Butin and Damman in Paris. He participated in many expositions including the Paris Blanc et Noir Exhibition of 1886. Alfred Boilot gained recognition for his fine and detailed style and was frequently commissioned by French, English and American publishers of prints. Original etching, drawn by Wal. Paget, etched by Boilot, plate signed, image 5-1/2 x 3-3/4 in. plus margins. Still has tissue guard attached with title "Eveline Seized by the Welsh".
