CIGAR STORE INDIAN - Trade Figure of a Native American Chief, in carved pine with an exceptional and original painted and varnished surface, attributed to Samuel Robb, New York City, circa 1880-1900, depicted with right hand to brow. On the original plinth, with later brass presentation plaque inscribed "To the National Association of Tobacco Distributors from the Cigar Institute of America, 1959". 76" tall, 19 1/2" square at base. Very good condition. From a Yarmouth Maine collection.
