AMERICAN OAK FRAME / FELLOE SAW, through-mortised and pegged frame with chamfered edges, narrow center blade, and wrought-iron tension adjustments. Original dry surface. The felloe saw was used by wheelwrights for cutting the curved wooden segments of wheels and by chairmakers for sawing curved chair arms and legs. Probably Tennessee or Virginia. Late 18th/early 19th century. 28 1/2" x 31 1/2" OA.
Very good original condition.
