FRENCH MASSIER CERAMIC VASES, LOT OF TWO, comprising one green and gold luster vase with a squared rim having "MCM / Golfe-Juan" painted in gold pigment on base as well as inscribed "CM" for Clement Massier, Golfe-Juan, France; and one vase having tall, tapered neck with bulbous base, hand-painted with yellow ground and foliage, and a sculpted, applied cicada on one side having "J. MASSIER" painted on side for Jerome Massier, and imprinted on base with illegible mark likely having "FRANCE" in the third line. Late 19th/early 20th century. 2 3/4" and 5".
Very good condition overall with minute area of roughness on smaller vase, one minute glaze flake on tip of one cicada wing and minute flake on underside of other cicada wing.
