Ancient Egyptian Alabaster Canopic Jar Jackal Head, 664-525 BC. Egypt, Late Period, Dynasty 26. anopic Jar representing Duamutef, one of the four sons of Horus in Egyptian mythology.Provanance: ex. LaFace collection; acquired by his parents during the WWII era. His mother served as an interpreter for British Intelligence (and adjunct archaeologist) It was also stated that it was on loan to the University of Pennsylvania during the 1950’s. Size : 23 cm x 9cm
