AN ANTIQUE BRITISH NEEDLEWORK PANEL OF A FOUR MAST SHIP, 19TH CENTURY, worked in natural colors with masts suspending five sails each above a twelve gun port body, flying the red ensign of the British Merchant Navy, on a stylized blue detailed ocean, within a glass covered and giltwood frame. Height: 24 5/8" Width: 35 1/2"

Condition

Fair condition, unexamined out of frame, fading due to light exposure, light spotting and discoloration throughout, small areas of loss. Gilt wood frame has surface buildup, darkened patina, chips and losses. Simpson Galleries strongly encourages in-person inspection of items by the bidder.
