    Marcel Gautherot was a French-Brazilian photographer. He lived in Paris for 20 years, where he became a young apprentice at a school of architecture. Here, he was exposed to the influence of the Bauhaus movement and the work of Le Corbusier. Gautherot returned to Brazil in 1939, where he began to photograph the cultural diversity of the country: its people, festivals, and architecture.
