A Wedgwood Rosso Antico Egyptian Revival Teapot and Underplate, Burslem (Stoke-on-Trent), Staffordshire, England, circa 1810
Marks: WEDGWOOD
4-5/8 inches high x 10-1/4 inches wide (11.7 x 26.0 cm) (teapot, including handle)
8 inches diameter (20.3 cm) (underplate)

PROPERTY FROM THE COLLECTION OF DR. SIDNEY AND MR. GEORGE PERUTZ
The teapot surmounted by figural black crocodile finial, radiating ribbed lid, body decorated with Egyptian motifs including winged sphinxes, crocodiles, canopic jars, animals, etc, keyed border to waist, with layered triangular ornamentation to lower body, plate with conforming motifs to rim.
Note: The underside of the plate bears a museum accession number under varnish and sticker: BMW, Buten Museum, Merion PA.
