Coat of arms of Leo XIII as stained glass work

This stained glass work depicts the coat of arms of Pope Leo XIII (1810-1903). The azure field shows two Fleur-de-Lys, a cypress and a comet which is often interpreted as the star of Bethlehem. The blazon is crowned by the Pope's tiara and it is surrounded by a pallium. The glass panes are partially frosted. The coat of arms is composed of 32 parts. The glass parts are partially painted in colors. A metal chain is attached on the back as a suspension .
Six pieces of the stained glass work show cracks. The paint shows only minor scratches and the matted finish is rubbed in places. In diameter the stained glass work measures 30 cm. (amb)
