A partially printed and illustrated inked document, circa 13 x 16 inches with blind stamp and printed seal of the state with Joseph Hiester autograph in black ink above blind stamp seal in upper left corner. The document is an appointment of Samuel Cross as Captain of volunteer infantry company known as the Liberty Guards, attached to the sixty-fourth Regiment, dated June 15, 1822, matted and framed, 18 x 21 ½ inches.
