This album contains 8 identified albumen cdv portraits of Union officers and 3 unidentified Union officers and a single enlisted man. In addition it has an albumen photos of Lincoln and Johnson his VP. Also engraved cdv portraits of U.S. Grant, Phil Sheridan, Col. W.L. Brown, 20 th Indiana, Gen. Heintzelman, Gen. Magruder and Mrs. Jeff Davis. One of the identified photos is a full length uniformed portrait of Col. Gallup, wearing a double breasted frock coat, knee high riding boots and slouch hat with oval cap badge with bugle symbol. With blind stamp imprint of noted African American Cincinnati photographer J.P. Ball. The next identified cdv is inscribed in ink Lieut Montgomery, ADC Brig. Gen. M. Morgan ? Div. Army of the Ohio, showing a young man in civilian dress with imprint of T.M. Schleier, Nashville. The next identified cdv has inked inscription reading I.C. ?hiller Capt. Co. A 14 th Ky. Vols. Wounded June 2nd 64 with imprint of T.J. Merritt, Nashville. The remaining identified soldiers are hard to read, but further research may discover who they are. Also in the album is a cdv of Commodore Nutt who worked for P.T. Barnum. Also a very nice photo of a little boy riding his hobby horse with imprint of C. Evick, Ashland, Ky. Plus a nice cdv of a little boy seated top a large St. Bernard type dog with imprint of Hoag & Co. Cincinnati. In addition there are 22 other cdv's in this album. This album was found in the same Adams Co., Ohio estate was Lots 8, 9, & 10.
