EARLY THUMBPRINT SALVER / CAKE STAND, colorless flint glass, curved rim with thirty-two even scallops, double step hollow stem with twelve flutes, circular foot with twenty-four scallops, single band of twenty-four thumbprints under foot, wafer construction. Bakewell, Pears & Co. Third quarter 19th century. 6" h, 11 1/2" dia rim, 5 3/8" dia foot

Note:This is the first time we have sold a cake stand in the pattern with this base, which is found on the spherical compote

Condition

Excellent overall condition having only a small area of pattern roughness under the plate and a flake on one point of the stem
