Woodland culture, many times associated with Hopewell village sites, often heat treated. Measures 4 x 2 inches.
George Nichols collection. Nichols' notes regarding site 38 read as follows, “Roth field above Imhoff site.” Imhoff Site 23CP7 is classified as "...a Middle Woodland Period village site, is situated on a terrace in the Lamine River locality of the Missouri River Valley. The pottery and stone tools from the site belong to the technological/artistic tradition that is described as "Hopewell."
