Decorated chatelaine in fine repouss work - on one side with precious objects, on the other with an inscription

This Chinese chatelaine is made of silver with a silver plated circlet and was made in the Qing dynasty (1644-1912). The lock has the shape of a ruyi head and the sides are ornate in fine repouss work. On the one hand precious objects and on the other Chinese inscription are visible in relief. The circlet is decorated laterally with two carnelian pendants in form of peaches and the lower ends are crowned by butterflies.



The Chatelaine is good condition with only slight signs of wear consistent with age such as light scratches and small nicks on the carnelian pendants. The silver weight of the lock is 33.75 grams and the total length measures 22 cm.
