One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crock, Stamped WM. E. WARNER / WEST TROY, NY State origin, circa 1850, cylindrical crock with applied lug handles, decorated with a large brushed cobalt tulip. Excellent condition. This is the mark of William E. Warner who ran a pottery in West Troy in the 1830's and 1840's.  (For more on this potter, see William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 67-68). Measures 8x8x9" and weighs 5 pd 12 oz. PROVENANCE: The Private Estate of a Atlanta, Georgia Antiques Dealer.
