GERMAN WESTERWALD SALT-GLAZED STONEWARE TUREEN, with cover having cutout for ladle, elaborately molded Renaissance-style decoration on a raised foot with applied, molded lug handles. Impressed with mold number 752 on base, otherwise unmarked. Late 19th/early 20th century. 13" H.
Undamaged except for small hairline crack near hole cutout for ladle on cover, likely a molding/manufacturing crack as the upper side is partially filled in with glaze, however, the underside was at some point filled in with another material.
