ENGLISH W. ALSAGER ADDERLEY (WAA) HAND-PAINTED CERAMIC TABLE ARTICLES, LOT OF 31, ten 2 1/8" H cups, nine 4 7/8" D saucers, one 4 1/4" H cream pitcher, one 3 1/2" H waste bowl, and ten 7" D plates, all having polychrome enamel chrysanthemum floral designs on interior and gilding on rim. Several with visible "[W] A.A." and one with complete "W.A.A." impressed mark, some also with "4 / 1080" in red enamel on base. Together with one unmarked small handled cup having polychrome enamel leaf design on side. 32 pieces total. William Alsager Adderley, Daisy Bank Pottery, Longton, England. Late 19th century.
29 pieces undamaged with hairline cracks on waist bowl and two cups, several with areas of discoloration or staining, and one plate with significant wear to interior enamel design.
