Lot 0047
A very fine QianLong Chinese Ge type porcelain moon vase. Of tapered circular body, with narrow straight neck to the rim, raised on countersunk flat oval base. Two sacred fungus shaped handles flanked from shoulder to the neck. Covered overall with a soft grayish glaze with shades of olive hue, suffused with a fine crackle. The glaze stopped at the foot rim, exposed the dark-grey ware burnt orange at the edges. The receded central under base remain underglaze.
Mark on base, a seal mark, with six deep-blue seal script -ZhuanShu- characters, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing.

Dimension: 13" H x 10-1/8" W

PROVENANCE: Acquired from a vast Connecticut estate collection in 2007 with records indicating that they were purchased over several years during the early 1900's and up until the 1915's from the JS Ltd Company New York. Pieces of history being passed on to the future.
