Pre-Columbian, Colombia or Venezuela, Tairona culture, ca. 900 to 1200 CE. Wonderful long necklace comprised of 73 rock crystal beads in varying lengths, all bi-conically drilled and a hollow gold figural pendant. The gold figure holds a staff in one hand and a long fruit in the other, an ornate headdress rests upon his head. His penis is curled upward showing its length and his verility. Pendant tests out at over 22K - not tumbaga (gold/copper mix) as is often the case with Tairona gold figures. Size: Pendant measures 1-3/8" L.
