Ann Taylor (1782-1866) was an English poet and literary critic. In her youth she was a writer of verse for children, for which she achieved long-lasting popularity. In the years immediately preceding her marriage, she became an astringent literary critic of growing reputation. She is, however, best remembered as the elder sister and collaborator of Jane Taylor. Jane Taylor (1783-1824) was an English poet and novelist. She wrote the words to the song "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star".

Fair, the cover is sunned to its borders, moderately edge worn, and with a number of scuffs and light discolorations throughout. The connection to the inside is secure. The art and lettering are clearly legible. The yellow inside cover spreads are bright and clean. There is a former owner's name, dated 1892, in ink, to the front end page. There are no other notations. There are no stamps or other attachments. The pages are foxed throughout the book. Some of this is light. Some is heavy, but almost all the art is unaffected, with most of the sunning being to the borders. All the text is clearly legible. The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages. There are no page tears or creases
