  • Condition

Fair, the full calf cover has been re-backed, with that noted on an inserted paper slip, which has the date '97, though which '97 is unspecified. The newer calf of the spine is clean, but with a slight slant. The gilt lettering and design are unfaded. The older front and back covers are scuffed, but in good overall condition, with no looseness and no prominent stains. There is foxing to the end pages, including the frontispiece illustration, but that is unfaded and clearly legible, as is all text. Most text pages have no notable foxing or other stains. The binding is tight throughout the book, with no loose or missing pages. There are no notable page tears. There are few creases, none prominent.
