MULLER & SONS GEISHA FIGURAL KEROSENE BANQUET LAMP, font holder with reserves depicting Japanese Blossoms leading to a brass connector and swirled brass stem running to the base, stem paralleled by a large figural Geisha holding a parasol with pressed blossoms, Geisha standing on an ornate platform of dolphins, signed "N. MULLER & SONS/ 2728". Fitted with a complete brass drop-in font, flame spreader signed "CONSOLIDATED" with patent information. Topped by a period cranberry ball-form shade with gilt decoration. Fourth quarter 19th century. 37 1/2" HOA, 29 3/4" H to top of flame spreader, 6 3/4" SQ base. 9 3/4" H shade.
Excellent condition overall with scattered metal-casting imperfections especially to the Geisha's reverse, as made, otherwise undamaged, shade with a chip and typical roughness to the fitter, chimney with minor roughness to the fitter.
