Chinese Sancai warrior roof tile from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). This Sancai roof tile is in the form of a warrior. The warrior has a face mask and head gear and is looking toward the left with a fierce toothy snarl. He is in a semi-crouched position astride a cloud swirl with both hands on this right thigh. It has a semi-cylindrical, barrel tile foot. It sits upon a wooden base. Dimensions are 10 inches wide by 14 inches high. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There are multiple places with glaze loss, otherwise in good condition.
