Pair of Chinese Cloisonné Qilin from the 20th century. These two, single horned qilin are enameled in blue, red, and yellow on a light blue ground. There are raised golden flames about the neck, front and rear haunches and sides. An oval ring hangs beneath the mouth of the qilin. A detachable, single handled, covered vase is inserted in the back of each of the qilin. The vases have taotie on each side, a chilong head with its tongue out forms the handle, and an oval ring runs through the handle. On the lid are four enamel birds. Dimensions are 6 inches long by 7 1/4 inches high. All measurements are approximate.
