Rosinus, Johannes; Dempster, Thomas. ANTIQUITATUM ROMANARUM CORPUS ABSOLUTISSIMUM. Geneva: Chouet, 1569 [i.e. 1659.] 4to, 9" x 6". [32], 1063, [1], [140] pp. + 2 folding plans (one of Rome and one of military encampment.) Woodcut illustrations in-text, title in red and black, woodcut headpieces and tailpieces. Note: Pages 33 and 45 bound one leaf out of place. Bound in period vellum over boards, some loss to one edge and one corner, boards slightly bowed. Title with 18th c. ink inscription and small chip to upper corner, some light foxing, one leaf with small hole removing several letters, Very Good. ***************************** A comprehensive history of ancient Rome. The date appearing on the title is an error (see NUC 504, 659.) The work first appeared in 1585 but was censured by critics and went through several editions, revised by Dempster.
