Politianus, Angelus. SILVA CUI TITULUS RUSTICUS. Florence: Antonio de Bartolommeo Miscomini, 1483. Small 4to, 199 x 140mm. 11 leaves (of 12, final leaf in good facsimile.) In decorative paper covers. All upper and lower corners chipped and very discretely repaired - 5 leaves with loss or partial loss of a few letters (which are filled in with neat manuscript.) A few instances of early ink (see below), a few instances of very light soiling, Very Good. ******************************* First edition. A scarce copy of Poliziano's celebration of rural life. ISTC locates only four copies (no copies in North America.)The present copy with authorial corrections (which are mirrored in the BN copy.) Leaf 4 verso, line 12 "Quos" and "quos" corrected, leaf 10 verso "pura" struck through and "plena" written in margin, and leaf 11 recto, line 18 with second "m" of "Flammas" struck through.
