Blake, William. THE MARRIAGE OF HEAVEN AND HELL. Edmonton, 1885. 11.25" x 8.5". With 27 hand-colored plates. Half-calf over marbled boards with spine lettered and ruled in gilt. Front pastedown with two former owner's bookplates and rear pastedown with small bookseller's label. Contents are water-stained throughout (mostly contained in the wide margins) and in 4 instances the stain touches the plate area, in other instances the stains approach the plate closely, and in in approx. 10 instances the stains are contained closer to the outer margins of the leaves. ************************************** [One of 50 copies.] The present copy has the original facsimile statement (on the preface leaf, noting the facsimile is from the Beckford-Hamilton Palace copy) marked through and is accompanied by a note (below) by William Muir stating, "This Copy is coloured after the Original in the Fitzwilliam Museum at Cambridge.
