the latch with two clear marks: one the mark of Sequeiro, the other a crowned CG;
outstanding silverwork depicting hunt scenes with Spanish and indigenous hunters; interior fitted with drawers and compartments with figural marquetry and bird and floral bone inlay (taracea) to the drawers and fall-front writing surface; on original silver-clad stand; overall on stand 51"h; chest measures 18.5"h; 25"w; 14"d
The Plinio Sequeiros mark on the vargueño latch is shown on page 153 of "Marcas de plateria Hispanoamericana" by Cristina Esteras Martin.
