c. 1785, Guatemala, with incised decoration in the Moorish style; the hinged lid with a recumbent dog. A worn inscription on the lid indicates it was given by SRA ECHAVERRIA to SRA SARD; silver coffee leaf and bean feet, 5.5"h; 6.5"w
The silver work is in the Georgian style. The nut surface decoration reflects the Moorish influence typical of Guatemalan work of this period.
Note: Sard is a Spanish name found in Valladolid, Spain.

Condition

Surface wear appropriate due to age and use.
