A mid Victorian enamel and gem-set memorial brooch. The replacement oval blue chalcedony cabochon, within a split pearl surround, to the black enamel and scrolling foliate border. Personal engraving dated 1855. Length 5cms. Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.Two split pearls deficient. Base metal replacement fittings.Chalcedony is a replacement, with white metal collet.Split pearls fairly well matched.
