Pre-Columbian, South America, Colombia to Ecuador, Narino Highlands, ca. 850 to 1500 CE. A stunning hand-built pottery bowl with deep, flaring walls upon a short foot, decorated via the negative resist technique on both the interior and exterior. The interior is decorated in red, brown and tan with abstract geometric patterns with circular motifs and designs that look remarkably similar to cogs. The exterior is in the same color palette with a net pattern repeating throughout. A lovely example! Size: 7.875" W x 4" H (20 cm x 10.2 cm)

Provenance: ex - Private North Carolina collection acquired before 2000.
