ORIGINAL PHOTO OF GRANT FUNERAL - Elephant Cabinet Albumen Photo of President Ulysses S. Grant's Funeral Procession, by H.N. Tieman & Co., depicting a military band passing on Broadway, August 8, 1885, part of the six mile course that ended at a temporary tomb in Riverside Park, attended by a record one million people. Grant (1822-1885), had died from throat cancer at his cabin in Mt. McGregor, upstate New York, on July 23, 1885, shortly after completing his memoirs. In the original oak frame, matted and glazed, OS: 19 1/2" x 16 1/2", SS: 12' x 9 1/4". Some foxing, rare in any condition.
