French Provincial Wool Carder, 19th c., of iron and polychromed pine, with an integral bench seat on a trestle base joined by a stretcher, H.- 44 in., W.- 15 1/2 in., D.- 48 in.


Condition consistent with age and use. Pinholes throughout. Light rust throughout metal hardware. Moderate wear throughout. Several 1 inch losses to paint on the top. Hairline cracks next to nails, which appear mostly intact but the handle is held in place by a wire through the bottom handle and into the wooden frame on either side. An approximate 2 inch loss to the metal on the top. Several smaller losses along the edge. A 2 inch white spot on the top, with a pea-size spot nearby. An intriguing piece.
