Rare Story of Peter Rabbit Published by Reilly & Britton, Chicago (1908). This is one of the most sought after Titles of the Reilly & Britton Red Book Series, with Beatrix Potter's First & Most Famous Work, The Story of Peter Rabbit, as well as an old Charmer, Dick Whittington & his Cat. The John R. Neill (Of the Wizard of OZ Sequels) Full Page Color Illustrations are Inredible. With Brilliant full color end papers (no cracking) showing Little Black Sambo & all the other characters in the series, & vivid illustrations This is indeed the First Edition in this Series, with Reilly & Britton on Title Page (Ms. Potter is credited with last name only on the cover but not on the title page). Later Editions/Printings were with Paper Covers/by Reilly & Lee! Cover is in very nice condition only slight edge and tip wear, but full spine title. Interior is Complete with some light margin soil, a penciled name in the "belongs to" and some light soiling, but No Marks, Stickers, or Loose Pages. Measures 7x5.50x.50. 8 oz. PROVENANCE: A Charleston SC Private Estate
